Work of Their Hands

Our SLT (Service & Leadership Training) team has been chosen for the summer.  14 teenagers will be joining us for 5 weeks this summer to be discipled in their faith, establish an employable work ethic and learn to work with children. In April, during their training weekend, the young men in our SLT program assembled outdoor benches for our pool deck. Our maintenance team set up the templates and then taught the SLT’s how to measure, assemble and secure the benches with screws.  After completion, they were loaded and relocated to the pool. Passing on Life Lessons

Streamside first meet Kairi Creighton at an Angel Tree Party hosted by St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Philadelphia.  Kairi, whose father was incarcerated, had benefited from the Angel Tree Christmas program previously and was asked to lead in prayer during the program.  Afterwards, he was approached by Streamside’s Executive Director, Craig Vincent, and asked to consider becoming a CIT (Counselor in Training). Streamside’s gift shop has been remodeled into an open and inviting cafe style space.  Along with being a great meeting or hang out area, a new vending machine stocked with snacks, cold drinks and coffee will accept cash, cards or phone apps for payment.  Purchases will support our campership program.  Streamside logo items (hoodies, t-shirts, wristbands and magnets) will soon be available on our on-line store connected to our redesigned website (www.streamside.org).
