Summer Camp Staff & Volunteers
The biggest need is for adult cabin counselors/skill activity instructors to supervise, teach and minister to campers spiritually. In addition, a safe and successful summer requires specialty staff such as lifeguards, medical personnel, technology and media crew, musicians, worship leaders, Bible teachers and program specialists.
Streamside staff members who commit to the entire summer outreach program receive compensation. There are a limited number of extended stay options for the month of August.
Can’t serve the whole summer? Consider volunteering for one or two weeks.
Internship Possibilities
Summer Internship as Program Director
10-12 week paid internship in urban youth & camp ministry. Plan and execute week long summer camps. Includes curriculum development, creative programming, team leadership, youth development, evangelism and discipleship.
Summer Internship as Bible Teacher
7 week paid internship teaching Bible to campers ages 7-15. Includes curriculum development, lesson planning, equipping and mentoring other members of teaching team, up front teaching in both large and small groups, individual counseling, evangelism and discipleship of urban youth.
Internship in Human Resources
Spring semester volunteer internship recruiting, selecting and hiring 40 seasonal employees for summer camp. Follows established employment process including processing applications, references, interviews, background checks and employment paperwork. Builds relationships with and assists candidates throughout mutual discovery process.
Internship in Grant Writing
Volunteer internship in grant funding. Research, prepare and submit grant proposals to potential foundations whose purposes and activities are appropriate matches for Streamside’s ministry of reaching children and strengthening churches.
Internship in Facility Management
Volunteer internship in facility management. Gain experience in all areas of facility management including lawn care, wood cutting, snow making and removal, floor care, building repair, vehicle maintenance, room set up and construction projects.
Internship in Food Service
Volunteer internship in food service. Gain experience in all areas of food service including menu planning, food preparation, food safety, cleanup, presentation and delivery,
Internship in Marketing
Volunteer internship in marketing. Become familiar with, evaluate, set strategy for and begin execution of expanded retreat marketing for Streamside Camp. Poll existing contacts to determine top priorities for capital improvements. Research and identify highest potential groups and determine best promotional methods to reach them.
Arise Leadership Program
Streamside’s Service & Leadership Training (SLT) is designed for young people who want to mature in the Christian faith and have a desire to serve God and others.
Streamside’s Counselor In Training (CIT) is the next step for young adults to serve alongside an experienced cabin counselor and develop their leadership skills and put their Christian walk into practice

Streamside Off Season Camps and Retreats
For those who want to invest in the lives of older campers, we host an intergenerational retreat on Labor Day for Streamside alumni age 16 to adult.
Weekend Retreats
Full Time Ministry Employment
Urban Outreach Program Director
Responsible and dynamic Christ follower focused on reaching urban children and teens in the camp setting. Ideal candidate will have both camp and urban ministry experience as well as previous interaction in multi-cultural settings. Primary responsibilities include recruiting campers; building and cultivating relationships with both Christian ministries and secular agencies; planning and executing weeklong camp, weekend retreats and day events; as well as assembling and mobilizing staff and volunteer teams.
Monroe County Bible Club Missionary
Using Streamside Camp as a base, this dynamic Christ follower will establish and lead neighborhood and school based Bible clubs throughout Monroe County as a missionary with BCM International. Ministry vision will include incorporating children reached into summer camp ministry as well as taking on a summer role at camp. Housing will be provided by the camp. Ideal candidate will be an engaging Bible teacher with children, have experience in camp ministry and be able to mobilize teams of volunteers.

First-Time staff and volunteers
Once started, the application MUST be completed in order to save it. We highly recommend that you gather the following information before starting the application:
You will need the name, mailing address, phone number and email address for three non-related references from people in the following areas of your life.
– Spiritual Reference: pastor, youth pastor or spiritual counselor
– Character Reference: someone who knows you well
– Work Reference: former employer (taken from work experience)
In addition you will need up to three recent work, camp, ministry or other related experiences (organization’s name, address, supervisor’s name, phone number and email).
